PRESS RELEASE- Altus Regional Consulting Solutions Selected to Participate in EU‑LAC Digital Accelerator Project with Italian Mobility Innovator Wego Srl
Bridgetown, Barbados — 16 April 2026
Altus Regional Consulting Solutions has been selected to participate in the EU‑LAC Digital Accelerator, joining Italian technology company Wego Srl, owner and operator of the Volvero digital mobility platform, in a cross‑regional initiative aimed at exploring market‑ready digital solutions for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The EU‑LAC Digital Accelerator is an initiative of the European Union designed to foster collaboration between organisations in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. Through this programme, selected partnerships receive acceleration services to support the validation and adaptation of digital solutions for new markets.
As a beneficiary, Altus Regional will participate in the acceleration process by supporting the partnership’s market‑validation activities in Barbados. These activities will examine the feasibility of Volvero’s peer‑to‑peer vehicle‑sharing model within the Barbadian context, including user needs, regulatory considerations and early market signals.
“Barbados offers a distinctive environment for exploring the feasibility of emerging digital mobility solutions,” said Natalie Sandiford, Managing Director of Altus Regional. “As a beneficiary in the EU‑LAC Digital Accelerator, our role is to contribute regional insight, local context and on‑the‑ground coordination to support the validation process and help assess how an innovative European platform might translate within Caribbean markets.”
Throughout the acceleration period, Altus Regional will contribute to feasibility and scaling discussions led by the programme’s service providers. The project will also involve tertiary‑level students participating through the Government of Barbados’ Give Back Programme, offering hands‑on exposure to applied research and international project collaboration.
The findings from the Barbados validation will inform the adaptation of the Volvero platform for potential deployment in the region and contribute to the EU‑LAC Digital Accelerator’s broader mission of strengthening digital cooperation across continents.
