AltusRegional Endorses MAREVAAdvancing Gender Equity in Maritime Education
AltusRegional is proud to support MAREVA, the Advance Certificate in Maritime Business developed by the World Maritime Academy. This free online course is part of the World Maritime Academy’s WE CARE initiative and is designed to open pathways into the maritime sector for women who are socially and financially underprivileged.
MAREVA’s purpose is clear: to expand access to maritime education for those who have historically faced systemic barriers to entry. The program is offered exclusively to women who meet both criteria, namely social and financial disadvantage, and who would otherwise be unable to access formal maritime training.
Supporting MAREVA’s Mission
AltusRegional’s endorsement of MAREVA reflects a shared commitment to gender equity, sectoral inclusion, and the transformative power of education. As a regional training provider and advocate for professional development across the Caribbean, Altus Regional encourages stakeholders to circulate the course link within their networks, especially among communities where this opportunity may have the greatest impact.
