This Refund Policy (“the Policy”) is issued by Altus Regional Consulting Solutions (Caribbean) Ltd. (“the Company”) and governs the terms and conditions applicable to refunds, cancellations, and associated procedures for all services provided through the Company’s websites, including but not limited to altusregional.com and altusmaritime.com (collectively referred to as “the Sites”). This Policy applies to all current and future services offered by the Company, encompassing consulting services, online courses, workshops, compliance offerings, and technology tools.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of this Policy, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:
1.1 “Client”: Refers to any individual or entity that purchases or engages services from the Company.
1.2 Consulting Services”: Professional advisory or consulting work provided by Altus Regional, typically pursuant to an Engagement Letter and Services Agreement.
1.3 “Engagement Letter”: A formal document outlining the terms and scope of services to be provided by the Company to the client, including but not limited to timelines, deliverables, and fee structures.
1.4 “Services Agreement”: A binding contract between Altus Regional and the client that governs the terms of the consulting services or other deliverables being provided.
1.5 “Online Courses and Workshops”: Educational or training programs, hosted online or in person, offered for a fee by Altus Regional.
1.6 “Consultation Appointments”: Scheduled advisory or informational meetings between the client and Altus Regional, typically provided on a one-on-one basis.
1.7 “Refund Request”: A formal written request submitted by a client to Altus Regional, seeking reimbursement of amounts paid for services under specific terms outlined in this Policy.
2. Scope of Services
This Policy shall apply to all services provided by the Company through the Sites, unless otherwise specified in a separate agreement governing a particular service. In the event of a conflict between this Policy and a service-specific agreement, the terms of the latter shall prevail.
3. Consulting Services
3.1 Fees paid for consulting services are non-refundable and non-transferable, given that work is initiated immediately upon receipt of payment and involves the allocation of substantial resources.
3.2 Clients engaging the Company for consulting services are required to execute an Engagement Letter and a Services Agreement, which shall include provisions governing refunds, cancellations, and other related matters. Refunds, if applicable, shall be managed strictly in accordance with the terms outlined in the aforementioned agreements.
3.3 At the sole discretion of the Company, refunds may be considered under exceptional circumstances, provided that no substantial work has been completed at the time of the refund request.
4. Online Courses and Workshops
4.1 Participants may cancel their registration for online courses or workshops no later than seven (7) days prior to the scheduled commencement date to be eligible for a full refund.
4.2 Cancellations made within seven (7) days of the commencement date shall not be eligible for a refund. However, at the Company’s sole discretion, participants may be permitted to apply their payment as a credit toward future courses or workshops.
5. Consultation Appointments
5.1 Clients may cancel consultation appointments up to forty-eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled appointment to be eligible for a full refund.
5.2 Cancellations made less than forty-eight (48) hours prior to the appointment shall be deemed ineligible for a refund.
6. General Refund Conditions
6.1 Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the designated email address: contact@altusregional.com.
6.2 Refunds shall only be issued in the following circumstances:
a. The client cancels within the timeframes outlined in this Policy.
b. Refunds for consulting services are expressly permitted under the terms of the executed Engagement Letter and Services Agreement.
6.3 Refunds shall not be issued under the following circumstances:
a. Work has commenced in respect of consulting services.
b. Cancellations occur outside the timeframes stipulated for courses, workshops, or consultation appointments.
c. The client chooses not to proceed after substantial work has commenced or deliverables have been shared.
7. Refund Procedure
7.1 Clients seeking a refund shall:
a. Submit a written request via email to contact@altusregional.com, detailing the service in question and the grounds for the refund request.
b. Provide any required supporting documentation, including proof of payment or booking confirmations.
7.2 The Company shall acknowledge receipt of the refund request within three (3) business days.
7.3 The Company shall evaluate the request and communicate its decision within seven (7) business days of receipt.
7.4 Approved refunds shall be processed within fourteen (14) business days of the date of approval. Refunds shall be credited to the original payment method used by the client.
8. General Provisions
8.1 This Policy shall apply to all services offered via the Sites.
8.2 This Policy is subject to modification or amendment by the Company without prior notice. Any updates shall be published and made accessible, and clients are advised to review the Policy at the time of their transaction.
8.3 This Policy shall apply in conjunction with any additional service-specific agreements or terms provided by the Company.
