Project & Programme Management Consultant Job Summary

Altus Regional Consulting Solutions (Caribbean) Ltd is seeking a skilled Project & Programme Management Consultant who will lead the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific short-term projects which have specified deliverables and manage the development of programs and initiatives that give effect to our client’s policy objectives. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects align with organizational goals and are delivered on time and within budget. The consultant will also evaluate project performance and recommend improvements for future programs. Applicants should have a strong background in project management methodologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently or part of a team. Previous experience working in the maritime industry or in public sector administration would be an asset.

The ideal Project & Program Management Consultant would be a dynamic and strategic thinker with a proven track record in delivering successful projects and programs. This individual should possess extensive experience in marketing and communications, governance and compliance, as well as maritime and blue economy development. They should have a deep understanding of the Caribbean market and the unique challenges and opportunities it presents. The consultant must be adept at navigating regional nuances to assist local businesses in achieving global reach and aiding international companies in penetrating the Caribbean market. Exceptional interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to foster strong relationships are essential for this role, ensuring effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. A commitment to driving sustainable growth and development within the Caribbean is paramount, aligning with our company’s mission and values.

Education Background

A Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Environmental Science, Ocean Policy, Public Policy, Governance & Compliance, or a related field is required; a Master's Degree would be preferred.

Experience Required

At least 3 years of experience in a Project and / or Program Management consultancy role, or a similar area, with a focus on the Caribbean market. International experience is a plus.

Duties, Responsibilities, Skills and Expertise

Responsibilities include managing projects and programs. Essential skills for this role are exceptional analytical abilities, proficiency in project management tools and software, and strong communication skills. The consultant must also demonstrate adeptness in financial planning, resource allocation, and the ability to navigate the complexities of private and public sector projects in the Caribbean context. 

Responsibilities

The Project & Program Manager will be required to:

  • Develop plans, programs and procedures that align with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Prepare Concept Notes, Business Cases and One Pagers for projects and programs.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and objectives are met.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure projects are delivered on time and within allocated resources.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including businesses, private sector organizations, and regulatory bodies in the Caribbean.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
  • Facilitate communication among project stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, providing regular updates to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and standards throughout project lifecycles.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development to stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in project and program management methodologies.
