M. Georgia Gibson Henlin is a King’s Counsel at the Jamaican bar. She is also called to the bar in Ontario, Canada and New York, in the United States of America, in the British Virgin Islands and in St. Lucia. Georgia is the Managing Partner in the law firm of Henlin Gibson Henlin, Kingston, Jamaica. She is a 2023 National Honouree in Jamaica where she was conferred with the Order of Distinction in the class of Commander. Called to the Jamaican Bar in 1993, Georgia has practised in all the courts in Jamaica with her current focus being: Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the Privy Council. M. Georgia Gibson Henlin’s practice focuses on Information Technology, Telecommunications, Competition Law, Commercial and complex legal issues. She has wide ranging experience in other areas of the law including Intellectual Property, Family, Estate Planning, Real Estate, Commercial, Finance and Taxation. In 2022, Georgia was a part of the cohort of attorneys representing the Jamaica Bar Association in the hard-fought landmark Privy Council decision: Attorney General et al v The Jamaican Bar Association [2023] UKPC 6.
Emile Leiba is the Managing Partner of the firm of DunnCox, a former President of the Jamaican Bar Association, 1st Vice-President of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce and is the first appointed Chairman of the Disabilities Tribunal. He is a member of the Board of Management of Tax Administration Jamaica, a member of the first instance Tribunal of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission, a Director of the Planning Institute of Jamaica, and has over 20 years of experience as an Attorney-at-Law, practicing in the areas of employment law, commercial litigation and maritime law, acting for international and local clients, appearing in the Courts at all levels, including the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. He has appeared before Joint Select Committees of Parliament and made submissions on draft legislation on behalf of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce and the Jamaican Bar Association. He is a contributor to the internationally recognised World Justice Project and Doing Business Reports. He has authored articles that have been published in both local and international publications. Emile is also an Associate Tutor in Civil Procedure and Practice II at Norman Manley Law School, a former marathon runner and a triathlete.
Deena-Marie Lord is a distinguished attorney-at-law and compliance expert, with over nine years of specialised experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Counter Proliferation Financing (CPF). As a Legal Advisor at the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF), she has been instrumental in advancing the organisation’s mission to strengthen financial integrity and combat illicit financial activities across the region. In her role, Deena-Marie served as Co-Mission Lead for the mutual evaluation of Anguilla, providing critical oversight and leadership in assessing compliance with international AML/CFT standards. She is comprehensively trained in the methodologies of both the 4th and 5th rounds of mutual evaluations, equipping her with a deep understanding of these rigorous processes. Additionally, as a trained International Cooperation Review Group (ICRG) reviewer, she is adept at critically evaluating jurisdictions requiring enhanced scrutiny. Deena-Marie’s professional journey reflects a strong foundation in legal interpretation, legislative review, and compliance operations. She has successfully led teams to develop enforcement mechanisms, streamline compliance processes, and implement innovative solutions to regulatory challenges. Her efforts have resulted in measurable improvements, underscoring her ability to drive meaningful change.
