Gender Diversity Policy
Altus Regional Consulting Solutions (Caribbean) Ltd. is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, particularly within our Altus Maritime division, which serves the dynamic maritime sector, where women continue to make up a very small percentage of the workforce. To this end, we hereby establish our Gender Diversity Policy, with the objective of increasing the presence, participation, and performance of women in all areas of our maritime operations. We believe that a balanced workforce where women and men have equal opportunities to contribute and advance is fundamental to our success and sustainability. We will actively work to eliminate barriers to the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women by implementing the following strategies:
1. Recruitment: We will ensure that our job postings reach a diverse audience and that our hiring practices are free from gender bias. We will aim for a balanced slate of candidates for all positions, especially in leadership roles within Altus Maritime.
2. Development: We will provide equal access to training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. We will support women in acquiring the necessary skills and qualifications to thrive in the maritime industry.
3. Retention: We will create a supportive work environment that respects work-life balance and is sensitive to the unique challenges faced by women. We will implement policies that enable all employees to flourish, such as flexible working arrangements and parental leave.
4. Performance: We will establish clear, merit-based criteria for performance evaluations, ensuring that achievements are recognized and rewarded fairly. We will monitor and report on gender diversity metrics regularly to track our progress and hold ourselves accountable.
5. Leadership: We will encourage and support women to take on leadership roles and participate in decision-making processes. We will ensure that women's voices are heard and valued at all levels of the organization.
6. Culture: We will foster a culture of inclusion where all employees feel valued and empowered. We will provide training on unconscious bias and promote awareness of the benefits of gender diversity. We will offer flexible work arrangements and family-friendly policies to accommodate the diverse needs of our employees.
7. Partnerships: We will collaborate with industry partners, educational institutions, and advocacy groups to promote gender diversity in the maritime sector. We will share best practices and learn from others to continuously improve our efforts.
